Precision meets personalisation

Bamford London, the luxury watch customisation brand and sister company to Bamford Watch Department, commissioned Atomic to develop an innovative online customiser tool for their flagship GMT range. The goal was to deliver an exceptional digital experience that empowers users to personalise their watches with ease and precision.

The challenge

Crafting a premium digital customisation experience

Bamford London wanted a tool that would reflect the high-end nature of their GMT watches, enabling customers to personalise intricate design details quickly and intuitively.

The challenge was to create an online experience that balanced luxury aesthetics with seamless usability, giving customers complete creative freedom without overwhelming them.

The solution

User-focused design and iterative prototyping

Atomic’s UX team began by deeply understanding the GMT product range and customer preferences.

We developed rapid prototypes to test user flows and functionality, learning that customers valued the ability to experiment freely with different design options.

The tool was designed to let users easily select, swap, and preview alternative components – empowering a truly personalised watch-building journey.

Several smartphone screens display a watch customization app, showing watches with different strap, bezel, and hand color options on a black background. Each screen presents various customization features and styles.

The outcome

A sleek, mobile-first customiser driving engagement

Validated through user testing, the final customiser was integrated into Bamford London’s online store with a polished, intuitive interface.

Designed mobile-first to cater to a large mobile audience, the tool performs seamlessly across devices. It offers extensive design control, enabling users to effortlessly explore combinations that reflect their personal style, resulting in a unique, engaging, and luxury online shopping experience.
