The challenge

Enhancing the Center Parcs online experience through UX audit and strategy

Leading family short-break and holiday village operator Center Parcs appointed Atomic to conduct a comprehensive UX audit of their UK website.

The goal was to identify opportunities to enhance the user experience, empowering visitors with greater control when searching for and managing their Center Parcs experience, online.

A website for Center Parcs shows people kayaking on a lake with the text Family fun is back. Below is a booking form to select dates and locations for a holiday stay, with a calendar for September and October 2020.
A calendar interface on a green background shows September and October 2020. Date ranges and durations—3, 4, and 7 nights—are highlighted. A message mentions breaks vary in duration. Options for date selection are visible.

The solution

Using research and design to uncover insights and elevate the customer journey

Discover
Working closely with Center Parcs’ digital experience team, Atomic conducted a mix of quantitative and qualitative UX research to uncover areas for improvement. This included moderated usability testing across key user journeys to pinpoint pain points and opportunities.

Proposed solutions were then validated through additional user testing before implementation.

Our research gave Center Parcs a deeper understanding of customer preferences and behaviours which we used to inform the online strategy.

Design
New and improved UX helped to create a consistent and quality experience for customers – from their very first interaction as well as during their stay.

The outcome

Delivering a roadmap of UX improvements through continuous iteration and validation

Our research findings informed a series of targeted UX enhancements across the website and shaped a longer-term UX strategy. The result was a prioritised roadmap of improvements, delivered iteratively by Atomic, supported by continuous research and validation.
