Revolutionising JCB machine purchasing

The challenge

JCB tasked Atomic with building an innovative new online platform to transform the way customers could buy JCB machines. The platform was to become an online marketplace which allows customers to search for JCB plant and equipment within one centralised platform, and view all machines available to them from their local dealer.

The solution

Atomic designed and built the JCB Machine Store. A fully bespoke e-commerce platform, integrated with a custom-built CMS backend custom APIs for automated product information and stock level management.

The new marketplace offers customers four times as many machines for online order than was previously possible, exact machines specifications and dealer specific pricing. Other features included a live chat facility for 24/7 advice and guidance, geo-location product searches, finance package configuration tools and the ability to buy multiple machines in a single transaction, through an integrated online payment gateway.

The outcome

JCB Machine Store was launched in early 2022, across 3 territories including, UK, Europe and the US. It's become a key sales channel for JCB, adopted by over 70 major dealerships across the globe.
